![]() about us A multiple award-winning firm with almost two decades of experience, we have deliberately chosen to remain a compact practice so as to ensure that our high standards of design and personal involvement are maintained. We believe in humane modernist architecture created in response to our clients brief: we never try to impose a preconceived style in the way that some practices do. The outcome of this approach is a rich visual diversity as illustrated by our projects. our clients All good buildings result from a close working partnership between client, architect, engineer and builder. We enjoy working with a wide range of clients: private homeowners, developers, restaurateurs, housing associations and local authorities - all of whom inevitably have budgetary restrictions. For us, imaginative design is not an alternative to them getting value for money but an integral factor in achieving it, since the best design ideas usually resolve several problems at one stroke. types of work Our involvement extends from interiors and product design all the way through to urban regeneration. Our current projects range in cost from £30,000 through to over £5million. The majority of our work is private and publicly funded residential commissions ranging from the upgrading of individual flats through to complex new build developments. However we are always pleased to discuss and take on other commissions such as educational projects and commercial work such as restaurants, shops and offices. location of commissions From our base in Clerkenwell we work wherever our clients requests may take us: mostly in London, but if called upon, anywhere in the UK or abroad. For us the potential for evolving a unique building finely tuned so as to capitalise on the assets of its site is more important than the proximity to our office. Many clients come to us with challenging and near-impossible urban sites that can almost always be turned around through ingenuity and creative design. the important things Our aim is for each of our clients to derive pleasure from a far better building at the end of their project than they could ever have imagined was possible at the start. The ingredients for getting there will vary from job to job but the key ones are always present: humane, comfortable and exciting spaces; good views balanced with the need for privacy; natural light and sustainable design wherever possible; and durable materials that please both the eye and the touch. website designed by Stephen Birchmore |
