“I have worked with Jeff Kahane + Associates on several occasions, both as a main contractor and as a client. Their designs are both innovative and stylish which result in an appealing and practical end product. My own development in Madia Vale had many design challenges to overcome as it was very restricted site with nine neighbouring properties and window restrictions to three sides of the property. They managed to succeed in designing and gaining planning permission for two totally unique low energy eco houses on three levels, incoporating various roof windows to provide light and ventilation to the rooms below and the main living area largely below ground level. “JKA designed and oversaw what was for us a big renovation project on our small but awkward, early Victorian, converted from shops, house. The old, leaking flat roof was completely replaced and the rooftop conservatory rebuilt. Improvements were made to all 3 staircases in the house and to the main bathroom, with a window added. A sliding partition was designed for the 2nd floor and the 1st floor landing was reconfigured. We wanted a drier, warmer, better looking, more functional house and that is precisely what Tobi and Jeff at JKA delivered ... and within budget. In addition, they helped us cut down the cost at the outset. They were responsive to our questions/suggestions through the process and we appreciated the support on matters that were new to us: the contract, planning permission and building regulations.
